•This Conference is organized within the Marie Curie - Initial Training Network "INGENIUM” on genomic imprinting and the COST Action BM1208 EUCID.NET on imprinting disorders. Genomic imprinting is an epigenetic phenomenon causing the parent of origin-dependent mono-allelic expression of about a hundred of developmentally important mammalian genes. In humans, errors in the establishment, maintenance or erasure of imprinting cause neurologic, endocrine or growth disorders. Genomic imprinting is a model for understanding the epigenetic mechanisms underlying stem cell multipotency and differentiation as well as the basis and consequences of epigenetic mutations in human disease.

•This conference will cover the theme of genomic imprinting in normal development and disease. Programmed sessions are

1. Epigenetic reprogramming;

2. Histone methyltransferases and demethylases;

3. Somatic maintenance of imprinting;

4. Imprinting disorders;

5. Genomic Imprinting and Stem Cells.
