Premio Giovani Biologi

The Rotary Club in Naples and the Institute of Genetics and Biophysics “Adriano Buzzati Traverso” (IGB ABT) present the “Young Biologists Award” (Premio Giovani Biologi). The award, which had its first edition in 2013, is one of the initiatives born on occasion of the celebrations held for the 50th anniversary of IGB. It is sponsored by the Rotary Clubs of Naples and is awarded each year to a brilliant young scientist, aged 40 or under, who carried out his/her research at a neapolitan institution, in the fields of Genetics, Molecular and/or Cell Biology. The “Young Biologists Award” was created to stimulate and support young people undertaking a career dedicated to science and research; at the same time, it is meant to point up how much Campania is a region traditionally rich in cultural activities. The candidates for this Award are evaluated by a jury made up of well-recognized scientists: among them, Paolo Amati, Felice Cervone and Francesco Blasi. The ceremony usually takes place at the CNR headquarter in Via Pietro Castellino, Naples, and it is traditionally preceded by a conference/lecture held by a world wide-known scientist.
