association was established with the aim of promoting and supporting scientific and technological research, as well as dissemination in the disciplines of life sciences and biotechnology, both in the Ha dato importanti contributi alla scienza che si estendono dalla Genetica umana alla Biologia del Cancro. Ha identificato il primo gene associato al cromosoma X, quello della glucosio-6-fosfato deidrogenasi, \u00a0la cui carenza \u00e8 implicata nel favismo, una importante patologia ereditaria umana. Inoltre, ha isolato i geni per CRPTO e PlGF, fattori extracellulari rilevanti per lo sviluppo umano oltre che per malattie cardiovascolari e tumorali. G. I suoi studi hanno riguardato campi diversi, quali la regolazione genica nei batteri, la genetica molecolare, la biologia della risposta immune e lo sviluppo di nuovi vaccini ricombinanti. Queste attivit\u00e0, apparentemente cos\u00ec diverse erano ispirate da una visione unitaria ed interdisciplinare della Biologia. Ma nel nostro DNA, cosa c\u2019\u00e8 veramente scritto? Grazie al Progetto Genoma Umano, il testo \u00e8 venuto alla luce, ma la lingua \u00e8 cos\u00ec difficile da decifrare, cosi diversa dai linguaggi umani, che solo gli addetti ai lavori provano a leggerlo.
