I am currently working as a visiting scientist in the laboratory of Prof. Giovanni D’Angelo at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland. My research investigates how alterations in lipid metabolism contribute to human disease, particularly cancer and neurodevelopmental disorders. I study GOLPH3, an oncogenic Golgi protein that reconnect glycosphingolipid biosynthesis to promote tumor progression, and CERT (CERT1), a ceramide transfer protein whose hyperactive variants cause CerTra syndrome by disrupting lipid homeostasis. By combining in silico screening, in vitro biochemical and cellular assays, and in vivo disease models, I aim to elucidate the molecular basis of lipid-mediated pathologies and identify new therapeutic targets.
