Doctor M. Corona is the Veterinary Surgeon Assigned to IGB’s Animal Facility, he is responsible for Animal Health of housed species under the Italian Decree Law D.L. 26/2014. He is a member of IGB’s OPBA, Agency, responsible for Animal Welfare under the Italian Decree Law D.L. 26/2014 art. 25 and 26; where he fulfills scientific technical assessments (“Reasoned Opinion”) necessary for sending research projects to The Ministry of Health and National Institute of Health (ISS), for the purposes of issuing Ministerial Authorization. He is also the supervisor of all anesthetic and microsurgical procedures used by researchers for the creation of animal models aimed at the study and treatment of human diseases.

Dr. Corona holds lectures and seminars at the Postgraduate Course in Sciences and Technologies Applied to Laboratory Animals, University of Naples Federico II. Dr. Corona has carried out teaching and training activities in more than 20 advanced training courses for surgeons in the field of general surgery, videolaparoscopic surgery and microsurgery during his working activity at the Biotechnology Center of the Cardarelli Hospital in Naples.
